INEC Releases Election Management System (EMS) 2015 Project Report

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published its Election Management System (EMS) 2015 Project Report. The objective of the Election Management System (EMS) Project is to steer INEC's operations towards a more systematized and proactive management of staff, electoral staff training, election logistics, parties and candidates, election material procurement, voter’ registration, delivery of election day emergency support services.

According to the report foreword, written by the former commission chair, that objective 'is very much consistent with the Commission’s objective of restructuring the organization, redesigning its business processes and repositioning it to better deliver electoral services'. The EMS Project arose from the reviews undertaken by INEC after the 2011 general elections. The Project was deployed for the 2015 General Elections.
